An Important Update for our NDIS Participants
Happy Paws Happy Hearts (HPHH) provides innovative programs supporting social inclusion, psychosocial wellbeing and skills building, as participants help rescue animals in need of extra care and attention.
Please note: Recent changes to NDIS funding around animal therapy programs should NOT impact your ability to utilise funding for Happy Paws Happy Hearts programs.
NDIS participants at HPHH access funding through a range of support categories including Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation (Core) or Increased Social and Community Participation (Capacity Building) and Finding and Keeping a Job (Capacity Building), depending on their personal development goals. Common Support Items include Innovative Community Participation, Community, Social and Recreational Activities and Employment Assistance.
Demonstrated outcomes for our NDIS participants include:
Increased confidence through positive training and skills attainment.
Increased social connections and support network.
Increased sense of purpose and engagement with family/friends.
Better employment prospects.
Improvements in mental health and wellbeing.
Whilst our programs involve tasks including training and socialisation for animals in a rescue shelter, wildlife conservation facility or training facility for assistance dogs, HPHH is not an animal therapy program.
